NASCAR Brickyard 400 Eludes Montoya Yet Again, Jamie McMurray Wins

I don’t know what it takes, but Juan Montoya needs to find just a tab bit better luck at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Last year Juan dominated the track but a pit road speeding penalty took him out of the contention for the win. This year, it seems a bad set of tires on his last pit stop doomed him to mix his paint scheme with the outside wall and Dale Earnhardt Jr‘s fender, ending his day mere laps from the end of the day… Montoya ended the day in 32nd, Earnhardt Jr. in 27th.

Yet Montoya being out did not eliminate the Ganassi team as Jamie McMurray took the lead mere laps from the finish from Kevin Harvick to win the Brickyard 400. The boy got to kiss the bricks!

  1. Jamie McMurray won, followed by
  2. Kevin Harvick,
  3. Greg Biffle,
  4. Clint Bowyer,
  5. Tony Stewart,
  6. Jeff Burton,
  7. Carl Edwards, (Who couldn’t spin the other 6 cars in front of him to take the win.),
  8. Kyle Busch,
  9. Joey Logano &
  10. Kurt Busch

rounded out the top-10 finishers. Points leader Jimmie Johnson had a bad latter half of the race and faded to 22nd with shock and splitter issues that split him away from contending for the win.

See NASCAR.com for the unofficial results for the Brickyard 400.
