NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES -
The CARFAX 250
-
As the laps wore down in the Carfax 250 at Michigan International Speedway, the racing was good in the pony cars as the lead was swapped a few times near the dusk of the race and the drama built up nicely.
At one point Paul Menard was in the middle of Brad Keselowski and Carl Edwards racing each other and I was quietly cringing for Paul, but it was nothing but good clean racing fun and Brad Keselowski won the Nationwide race.
Carl Edwards finished 2nd and Kyle Busch managed a 3rd place finish, followed by Justin Allgaier, Paul Menard, Joey Logano, Elliott Sadler, Reed Sorenson, Colin Braun and Kevin Harvick.
NASCAR Bits & Pieces Call Outs:
Brad beat Carl, with a bum clutch under his foot to boot. It made it hard to exit pits but car setup and driving made up for that, though the clutch really frustrated him when Brad tried to do a victory burnout! LOL.
I liked the look of the Jr. Motorsports No. 88 entry with Elliott Sadler behind the wheel of the GT Vodka Chevy – and he had not abrupt or sudden stops this week.
It was very nice to see the Valvoline colors back on the track in a scheme that was very reminiscent of the old Mark Martin days!
As far as Danica Patrick was concerned, I think I made a public estimation of her finishing 25th or worse and sadly, her day did not turn out any better than that, having come in 27th, a few laps down. Hey! She beat Derrike Cope & Carl Long!
