So who has had the better track record at Daytona International Speedway?

Best Average Finish, last 10 races

  • Clint Bowyer – 12.3 (15th in driver points)
  • Tony Stewart – 13.5 (9th)
  • David Ragan – 14.1 (24th)
  • Elliott Sadler – 15.0 (28th)
  • Kurt Busch – 15.3 (6th)

Hmm, I know restrictor plate races are a crap-shoot at best, but if I were to compare past results to point standings, I’d think it would be between Tony and Kurt.

But…

Check out this table and tell me what you think? It looks like Tony does seem to know how to dance with the drafting luck of Daytona!

Remember, this is the last time they’ll be on this track surface. After this race, the repave job commences and the personality that was Daytona will change to that of a smoother track surface. It won’t negate past results, but it sure will change it up a tad.
