The first caution came out shy of 10 laps in when Robby Gordon spun down out of turn 4 by himself. On the restart Matt Kenseth experienced a flat tire and made a green-flag pit early in the race. Then on lap 15 Andy Lally spun, with help from the No. 34 car and Robby Gordon got the first lucky dog pass.
Around lap 75, Jimmie Johnson was outside the top-20 as he struggled with a bad set up from his pit stop previous to this lap. There are 15 cars off the lead lap at this time. On lap 90 race leader Tony Stewart lapped Johnson.
Lap 99 Kyle Busch’s RF tire went down, and luckily, a debris caution erupted right after that. On the restart, Kurt Busch lost it coming out of turn 4 and Kasey Kahne also got caught up in the spin world. No damages.
