NBC beat the other networks to the punch with their new 2011/2012 TV season lineup schedule announcement, TV Line has revealed.
They’ve (TV Line) also spent some quality time chatting about a few issues that folks might have had questions about, most notably, Chuck, Wonder Woman being dropped, and changes that might be taking place on Law & Order: SVU in the upcoming 2011/2012 TV season.
The notable changes:
Chuck
Chuck is moving to Fridays for its fifth season. And this is slated to be their final season, with 13 ordered episodes. But because they are headed into the fifth season, knowing it’s their last, they can approach the story line properly and leave the fans with closure. (I’m thinking they’ve learned from the lumps and bruises they’ve taken when they cancelled shows like Vegas in mid-cliff-hanger and most recently, Stargate Universe on Syfy channel.)
There won’t be any more episodes ordered, unless, as NBC president Greenblatt said, they suddenly find themselves with 10 million viewers on Friday night, then they’d order more. (Hint, hint… tell everyone you know fans!)

30 Rock will show up mid-season, along with Celebrity Apprentice & The Voice.

On NBC NOT picking up Wonder Woman
It was said by NBC President Bob Greenblatt that they needed to have the right take on Wonder Woman, in this genre, and he did not feel that the pilot did that. Though he admitted that he wasn’t the best audience for the genre, in so making that decision.
A Cinema Static Suggestion on Wonder Woman:
Despite not picking up the series, I think they should set up the pilot as a stand-alone movie and air it… even if they shuttle it over to the Syfy channel. It could not be any worse than some of the frighteningly poor quality knock-offs they run on Syfy and would probably make a great Saturday Night Original Movie.

On Jennifer Love Hewitt Joining Law & Order: SVU
Hewitt is not replacing Mariska Hargitay. Hargitay’s character would possibly be getting a supervisory role in Law & Order: SVU and Hewitt’s character would be Chris Meloni‘s new partner.
At least, that’s the “creative thinking” behind this entire process right now. Jennifer Love Hewitt is not a done deal. It’s an idea they like. So we’ll have to sit and wait patiently to see how that idea develops.

I am SO ticked that Chuck is moving to a different night BUT I could handle this…I am downright mad that this is the final season. To bad for you NBC…this is the only show I watch on your network-back over to ABC UNLESS Chuck stays on the air!
This was the best show on NBC. You should reconsider the decision to cancel .
NBC…..just so you know….our family has had “Chuck Night” for several years now….on Mondays. We all get together to watch the show as a family. Moving it to Friday is NOT cool and also it seems like you are TRYING to get us to NOT watch the show. The only saving grace is that I have DVR and will be recording it on Friday…..and watching it on MONDAY, where it belongs. DON’T CANCEL CHUCK.
NBC I am so sorry to hear you are canceling CHUCK. I normally watch ABC. One night as I am surfing the networks I come across Chuck, it is great, refreshing, not too much violence and a heap of comedy. I even started watching other NBC programs. It is great I know you all never meant for it to last 5 seasons, but, it did. Maybe it is because we need shows that are silly, funny, romantic , and a little exciting. the office is not funny it is lame, so is parks and recreation. We need more shows that are OK for our 10-15 yr olds, on up to adults to watch. Lets step away from so called reality shows, we don’t need one every night, and lets look at true family humor, Chuck is that, Please don’t cancel the one good show, that the whole family can laugh at and enjoy!!
