Welcome to the Cinema Static DVD / Blu-ray report for January 26th, 2010.
Well January 2010 is all but over, this week in DVD / Blu-ray is the best so far this month. There’s so much to offer let’s get to it.
In film, Surrogates tops my list as the DVD pick of the week. I didn’t see this in theaters due to poor reviews and it just looked lame, but it looks perfect as a DVD rental.
Another rental if your in the mood for gore extreme is Saw VI. The uber cool and creepy Crispin Glover stars in The Donner Party. We all know what happened there don’t we. Yikes!!! The Ellen Page solo lead, Whip It cracks its way through your entertainment system, and finally Troma’s War (Tromasterpiece Edition) is ready for some R and R.
My DVD TV pick of the week is The Whitest Kids U’ Know Season 2 coming at you! These guys don’t care if you agree with them, and that’s the beauty of the show! WKUK are the New York (Kids in the Hall), very funny!
Southland is also getting high praise from a lot of my comrades, and an Unrated Edition only makes me want it more, I want it now!!!
Parker Lewis Can’t Loose Season 2 finally shows up for class! Great show, I really liked that one. If your a fan of Malcolm in The Middle or Square Pegs, you’ll love Parker Lewis Can’t Loose!
If your a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000! (MST3K) (Like Brusimm’s head honcho Bruce Simmons), there’s some great Rifftrax releases heading your way this week. Just buy them and feel good B!
There’s also some new documentaries on the Kennedy assassinations and self defense this week, check them out!
My Blu-ray pick of the week is the Highlander: Immortal Edition. Great film, I hope this new remasterd cut lives up to the hype! Also Imax: Wild Ocean looks pretty cool. This Is It! The final performance of Michael Jackson is of course going to be a hot seller this week.
