Welcome to Cinema Static’s DVD & Blu-ray report for March 16th, 2010. It’s the middle of the month and this could be the best week in DVD / Blu-rays for the month of March. Ninja Assassin, Astro Boy, and The Fourth Kind top the mainstream this week. Breaking Bad and Pulp Fiction top the list in TV and Blu-ray.
My pick this week in film is Ninja Assassin, the Wachowski ninja epic. These guys are always on their game and I can’t wait to see this one! (I missed it in theaters) Runner’s up go out to Wonderful World starring Matthew Broderick, and Armored, the Matt Dillon armored truck heist film that also stars Laurence Fishburne and Jean Reno.
My TV pick this week is Breaking Bad Season 2. I’ve been waiting for this one for a year now. Great show, intense acting and an uncensored network make this show one of the best on TV right now. MST3K fans, this week Mystery Science Theater 3000: XVII is out for viewing with friends. Bring your own popcorn. South Park Season 13 is also “hella cool” this week.
The Blu-ray pick this week along with everyone else’s out there is the long awaited Pulp Fiction! This ones going to fly out of the stores. Also Breaking Bad, Season 1 and 2 are both available on Blu-ray.
