This week the headlining star in new movies coming out this Friday, October 24th, is Keanu Reeves in an action flick of vengeance. The other movie out is based on an old “game” we’ve probably all played at one time or another.
New in theaters this week:
Rated PG-13, it runs 89 min and is, of course, a Horror film. A horror film rated PG-13?
In it, “A group of friends must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.”
It’s directed by Stiles White whose past experience includes The Sixth Sense, Knowing and a few more big name movies.
The cast includes Olivia Cooke, Ana Coto, Daren Kagasoff, Bianca A. Santos, most of whom I don’t recognize off hand, so what fun comes from this film could more or less be based on the experience of the director.
This being the first in a line of movies vying for your Halloween fun, well, it is what it is.

This film is rated R for the violence and runs 101 min.
The basic premise is spelled out slightly differently than interviews I’ve seen… where the tag line is “An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that took everything from him.”
In interviews Reeves says he comes out of retirement because the bad guys killed his puppy.
If anything, all animal lovers who lean towards the violent movie may just love to see 100 minutes of Keanu Reeves avenging animal violence!
It’s directed by David Leitch (V for Vendetta, Fight Club) & Chad Stahelski. Leitch’s past experience should lend well to this film.
The cast includes Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Willem Dafoe.
