I caught this over on a website that said that this newest movie trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes made them less interested in the movie.
I don’t get that. To me, this trailer expounds more on what the first movie trailer showed us… how that can make anyone less interested confuses me. Not dissing on the folks. We all have our perspectives and that’s cool. Just saying that I’m confused. They didn’t offer up why they felt that way, so I don’t get the motivation there.
What does worry me is that in one of my infamous movie theater roaming stunts, I asked a bunch of people about this movie… hearing the title, they didn’t realize it was a new movie. They thought it was one of the many older versions that came out and apparently, didn’t give it another thought.
All that movie renaming business might have been for naught! (The movie had been renamed multiple times, as if it couldn’t find its own identity.)
I find this premise an awesome look into the origins of how the Statue of Liberty got itself half buried on a beach and apes became the dominant , talking species. I also look forward to what director Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist) does with this look into the origins film for the Planet of the Apes.
With stars James Franco, Tom Felton, Andy Serkis (As Caesar), the film will be in your movie theater on August 5th, 2011.
