Fox Pulls FANTASTIC FOUR Films From Home Venues, DAREDEVIL Casting News is good, and we have film synopsis for Independence Day 2 and Batman vs. Superman movie.

(Amazon link)

I am not sure if you have heard or not, but a new Fantastic Four movie is coming out…  again. It is due out in early August, 2015. And it is a very different kind of reboot/origin film for the movie version of the Marvel franchise title.

Now I am pretty sure you heard about how Marvel has been very disenchanted with Fox holding the character rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. I mean, hey, in the day, you had to make your money off your product somehow. And selling film rights to characters was one of them. But Marvel can’t live with their decision and has been dropping support for those two franchises in what appears to be an active campaign to (probably) give up their rights.

I doubt it is related, but the thematic premise is that in order to better support the new origin of the Fantastic Four, Fox has pulled the two older FF movie titles from all consumer digital platforms.  Those digital platforms include iTunes and Amazon, those films being from 2005 and its sequel in 2007.

The classic reason for the move has been used by Fox: “To not distract from the promotion of the newer film.” Because you know, we’re as stupid as a bowling ball and we can’t tell the difference.

But hey, you can still rent or buy the DVDs if you had to.

Just so you know, this is nothing new. It apparently has been done before. But still… talk about lack of faith.

The trailer for the film looks pretty fun… but then again, someone is paid the big bucks to have the marketing make the product look good… right?

Here’s some of the details for the new film coming out in August, if you want to spoil the surprise for yourself:

  • The team gets their powers when they travel to an alternate reality. Not in space, like the comic books had it.
  • Dr. Doom will be called Victor Domashev, and his online handle is “Doom.” Yea, I won’t go into the rumor of why he has an ‘online’ handle.

But otherwise, that’s that. It could be better than… strike that, I don’t know how it could not be better than the other two movies.

I’m sort of looking forward to it, despite the rumors of director Josh Trank not being up to the challenge and because of it, getting fired from the Star Wars gig () that had not even started yet! Yikes! (Even though he says he personally withdrew. {From a position of a lifetime, working with the biggest entertainment company ever, for a franchise that will live forever. Yea… right!}

The Latest Casting News For Daredevil

Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox

So the last time a casting news bit came out about who was playing who in Netflix’s Daredevil, it all went to hell in a hand basket!

Well, the very very latest news that just came out, is that The Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal will be portraying The Punisher.

OK, it’s not a rumor, it was announced by Marvel’s head of television man, Jeph Loeb on And The Punisher is very different from Daredevil.

Where Daredevil does not kill, The Punisher is not afraid to, considering his tools of his trade included guns. So there will be a huge conflict right there.

Also, we know that Charlie Cox and Rosario Dawson will be returning to reprise their roles.
