This week the opening movies at the box office will be Toy Story 3, Jonah Hex and Cyrus. But before delving into the new, let’s check out how last week’s opening movies have done.

Last weekend the war of the remakes took place when The Karate Kid faced off against The A-Team and surprised everyone with it’s box-office performance as it scored its 3-points in the box office battle by taking in twice that of The A-Team!
Iron Man 2 is still holding off Shrek Forever More with total sales world-wide… for now.

Toy Story 3:
Starring the voice talent of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Ned Beatty, Don Rickles and others continues the story of Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. Ug!
Written and directed by Lee Unkrich in his solo directorial debut.

Jonah Hex:
Starring Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan (I am no longer on Transformers) Fox and others in this old western tale adapted from a DC Comics title, where the U.S. military makes a scarred bounty hunter with warrants on his own head an offer he cannot refuse: in exchange for his freedom, he must stop a terrorist who is ready to unleash Hell on Earth.
It’s directed by Jimmy Hayward, whose directing resume includes a lot of animation. (Horton Hears a Who & Robots.) Keep an eye out for this fledgling director to see how well he pulls this story and ensemble together!

Cyrus:
Starring John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei and Catherine Keener. Basically put, a recently divorced guy meets the woman of his dreams. Then he meets her son.
Written and directed by Jay Duplass & Mark Duplass.
“Your hair is like a crippled tree reaching for heaven.” LOL. If you like comedies, the trailer seems pretty fun!
