For the Thanksgiving holidays, it’s a long weekend. Opening movies for the Thanksgiving weekend (opening Wednesday) include Love and Other Drugs, Tangled, Burlesque, Faster & The Nutcracker in 3D. On Friday The King’s Speech opens. This collection of opening movies is bringing names to the screen like Jill Clayburgh, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zachary Levi, Kristen Bell, Dwayne Johnson, Elle Fanning and Helena Bonham Carter.
Box Office Report for Nov 19 t0 21, 2010
The box office numbers for the weekend of November 19th, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 conquered the box office with a serious amount of buckage, bringing in $125M. Megamind has been out for 3 weeks but stood tall in 2nd having pulled in $16M, Unstoppable in its 2nd weekend pulled in $13M, Due Date drew in $9M and the other movie that premiered this last weekend, The Next Three Days, didn’t really crank it out and only pulled in just over $6M.
BTW, the sucktacular movie (according to many other sources), Skyline, pulled in $3.4M last weekend. That was a bit of a drop from its $11.6M opening weekend, and the movie has grossed $14M, just a tad over it estimated budget of $10M. That $10M estimate doesn’t include marketing costs.
