Paige Duke Is No Longer One of the Sprint Cup Girls

If you haven’t noticed, the profile image for NASCAR‘s the Sprint Cup Girls Facebook page is only sporting two team-members on the publicity team for Sprint.  Paige Duke is no longer with the Miss Sprint Cup team.  It would seem she was let go due to some imagery that popped up on the web, images from her long-gone days of college.

The details, well, they are what they are and though it seemed she sent the images to one party for personal reasons, they found their way to a bulletin board and then another NASCAR site had posted them.

Subsequently, the actions of both parties seemed to have resulted in her being let go from the Miss Sprint Cup team.  Hope everyone is happy…  then again, I’m sure the other parties that helped this happen probably don’t care they cost the girl her job.  True, these were choices she made in her past, but this seemed undeserved.  I could be wrong, but that’s my take.

NASCAR News, Updates and Opinions

Their FB page made a statement on June 29th stating:

Hey fans, Paige Duke is no longer with the Miss Sprint Cup team. We wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors. Thank you for your continued support of the Miss Sprint Cup program as we continue to bring you closer to the NASCAR action each and every week.

Now that means the two girls left have to scramble to cover what the three of them used to do.

For the record, she seems to be doing OK despite the evolving situation.  It sucks when someone you trust does that under-handed back-stab.   Trust me on that one, then again, who hasn’t been severely disappointed by someone we thought we can trust!?  But if interested, you can check on Paige Duke’s Twitter account.  She’s pretty active there where folks are sending their well-wishes and what not.  Tell her I sent ya!

Ok, yeah it sucks that Sprint fired her over something that happened a lifetime ago and really not that big of a deal anymore (in today’s world thanks to girls like Lohan, Hudgens, Lively, etc.) But whoever said Sprint was cool or in touch with today’s world?

Consider this though, perhaps this was not some accidental or unknown “leak” of the Paige Duke pics. Does Vanessa Hudgens scandal ring a bell here? There was alot of talk that Vanessa staged the leak of her pictures to gain extra buzz, celebrity and “increased” brand awareness (they say any publicity or buzz is good publicity because it gets people talking about you) All that translates in to more money in the long run.

And to Sprint, really who is complaining here? She is a really hot chick – see the JLA Watercooler for the full uncensored set if you don’t believe me.

All this will do is just bring some extra buzz to what she was doing for Sprint. And now since they fired her, they still get the buzz but better yet, so does Paige. Maybe that is the way it was all planned to begin with? Just maybe……….
