‘Parenthood’ Season Finale “Hard Times Come Again No More” & Will It Get Renewed?

'Parenthood' 4433021_nFor all the fans of Parenthood, the season finale was well written and I can’t begin to describe the appreciation for having a finale without cliffhangers.

Cliffhangers might be great for shows that know they’re coming back.  Any other kind of writing for a show that teeters in the ratings is not fair to the fans.  This week’s Parenthood finale ended the season with good feelings and plot lines that if the show never had another episode, left us having a good feeling for the few situations that could have been hangers.

Amber (Mae Whitman) pulling through what could have been written as a horrific accident was nice.

When Zeek (the timeless Craig T. Nelson) had this one-on-one with Amber, at the wrecking yard next to the wrecked car, it was amazing to see her transformation and suddenly understanding and getting grip.  It was totally amazing to see Zeek get it together to such a degree to reach her when no one else could.

Adam (Peter Krause) getting dumped by his free-spirited boss, but then finding out Kristina (Monica Potter) is pregnant was such a bad yet good thing.

Max (Max Burkholder) apologizing to Sarah (Lauren Graham) was a wonderful sign of advancement on Max’s part.

See Julia (Erika Christensen) decide she DOES want another child was neat.  (Did you love that birthing scene earlier in the episode?  What a hoot!)

'Parenthood' with Joy Bryant and Dax Shepard

We got to see Sarah’s play and it looks like Jasmine (Joy Bryant) just might be giving Crosby (Dax Shepard) a chance.  God knows, he deserves having to work at it so hard as he has been.  It’s good to see he’s got a grip…   I hope.

If the show does not come back, this was a good wrap up.  In our minds, we can surmise how things have gone.  If it does come back, we have many good story points for the show to expand out into.

With Lawrence Trilling (Alias, Pushing Daisies) directing, Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Boston Public) writing, producers Devin Rich and Ron Howard should have a great creative leg up on the process if and hopefully, when, the show gets renewed by NBC for a third season!

Keep Parenthood going NBC, the fans want it back!

Keep it tuned here gang, I’ll keep you up to date on what I find out when it comes up!  [Cinema Static on Twitter]

Please bring Parenthood BACK! This show actally deals with true to life problems. The story line is one of the best I’ve seen in a long while!
