Pesky Car Warranty Phone Calls

Ever get those stupid-ass automated phone calls telling you that your car warranty is about to expire?

Turns out that the company that’s doing these LIES is based in the St. Louis MO area.  The companies that have their automations do these calls target people regardless of if they own a car or not or if you’re on the Do-Not-Call list or not.  Which if you can bust them for that, that’s a pricey EFF-up on their part.

Not to mention, when they do hit up someone with a car who might just be in the situation they describe, other shady things take place from those interactions that range from not seeing a contract before buying this warranty (ALWAYS READ ANY CONTRACT FIRST) to warranties that don’t cover everything needed.

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer (N.Y.)  is calling for an investigation into what he’s coined as robo-dialer harassment.

For more details on the issue, see the ABC news or  Seattle Times article for more info.

I don’t mind honest advertising that’s up front.  What I do mind are people that lie or skip the truth around to get your money.  Sales can be accompished by being honest, though from my past experience in a commission based industry, those who skirt the truth or outright lie do get the bigger chunk of the available clients & business.

If you can, do your part and find out how to report these calls!  Let’s put an end to this bullshit scheme.
