Richard Petty speaks to the crowd during the NASCAR Hall of Fame Grand Opening
Back in January, I apprised you that a movie called Petty Blue was being produced and was coming our way soon! It seems that soon can be called now! Or close to it. Production on the Kevin Costner narrated biopic on Richard Petty has wrapped.
We can expect to see Petty Blue on CMT (Country Music Television) and then DVD sometime in the fall of 2010!
“Petty Blue, which refers to the famously distinctive color of Richard Petty’s #43 car, is an inspirational story of dedication, perseverance and family tradition. The film will debut on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment and premiere on CMT in the fall of 2010. ”
The companies behind Petty Blue, CMT Films and NASCAR Media Group, were also responsible for the film DALE and The Ride of Their Lives.

I have seen Petty Blue on C.M.T. Thursday nite…it was very hard for me to see Adam’s pic on there …me and adam were very close friends…Adam was like the son I always wanted..when Adam died that day a piece of my heart went with him… I have’nt watched a NASCAR race since Adam died….it took me along time to get over his death…Richard opened up a new museum in Randleman,N.C. with Adam’s super speedway car in it…he won at Charlotte in it.. I was there in winner’s circle…the car and a pic of winner’s circle is on the wall there with me in it..I’ve been there the day it open and i haven’t yet been back…it was so hard knowing Adam is gone…. ”only the good die young”. I know one day I’ll see Adam again at the golden gates of heaven he will be there waiting on me I’m sure…and i know he is looking down on us each and every day i feel his present some days …i still cry some times thinking about Adam…and I’m a grown man ..god bless ; Kyle, Richard, Patty & Lynda i know it’s been just as tough on them as I….
