PIRANHA 3D Promo Art 2

Looking around the web and in my local newspapers, I encountered an interesting initial trend about the newest released 3D movie, Piranha 3D. The quick glimpses I took were all saying good things. So I decided to look around and see what folks are saying.

NYDaily News: []

2 out of 5 stars.

Those who need to sneak into an R-rated movie to see naked girls will be especially grateful,

Orlando Sentinel: []

1.5 out of 4 stars.

With all the pointless 3D cartoons and joyless 3D “”Clash of the Titans” conversions, at last here’s a picture that tosses its cookies, its coffee cups and its D-cups right in your lap.”

But on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s at an 82% rating right now. []

IMDb is still waiting for votes []

Telegraph.co.uk []

The suspense is as skimpy as the swimwear in this shameless 3D remake

Yahoo News []

hugely entertaining” & “Piranha 3D” knows exactly what it is and does exactly what it should do. It’s about piranhas … in 3-D. Do you really need to know anything else?”

Bloody Disgusting []

Getting the 3-D out of the way (breathe Brad, breathe), Piranha is actually a pretty fun movie. It captures the spirit of the original in various ways, but most notably the way Aja shoots the piranha attacks.

Ah, another post-processed 3D splat.

Den of Geek []

A remake of Joe Dante’s 1978 original, which was the better of an entire shoal of low-budget rip-offs that appeared in the wake of Jaws, Piranha 3D replays the exploitative gore and sleaze of late-70s and 80’s grindhouse pictures with relish. A 90-minute dervish of bikinis, breasts and blood, director Alexandre Aja’s movie is gleefully, hedonistically salacious and shamelessly gory.

The use of 3D, on the other hand, is far more successful than you might expect from a post-production conversion, with plenty of eyeballs and gnashing teeth flying out of the screen at all times.

There’s a collection of thoughts on the 3D remake, called Piranha 3D. Hope this helps anyone out there if they were on the campy movie bubble!
