Syfy licenses Primeval New World

Not sure if you’ve heard yet, but the new Primeval spin-off series, called Primeval: New World and Syfy has acquired the licensing rights to air it.

We’re expecting a 2013 premiere and it has a few familiar names attached to it… both in front of and behind the camera:

Primeval: New World will star

  • Niall Matter (Eureka),
  • Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries),
  • Danny Rahim (Young James Herriot) and
  • Crystal Lowe (guest slots in Smallville, Supernatural, Stargate Atlantis)

Martin Wood (Sanctuary) and Gillian Horvath (Sanctuary) are exec producers and word on the street is that Amanda Tapping was tapped to direct a few of the 13 episodes that will comprise of the season.

(Man, “seasons” are getting smaller and smaller these days!)

Primeval: New World is based on the same premise as the original series, where scientists chase down time anomalies while dealing with both prehistoric and futuristic monsters!

It also looks like Niall Matter found himself a new job after Eureka, and that’s good to see!

That looks very good, I liked the original ones and this looks like it will be worth watching..

Which of course means they will show 6 episodes, then stop for 6 months then show 3 more, then stop it altogether and never show us the end..
