Red with Bruce Willis – Bunches of Movie Opinions Mostly Good

REDs Frank

I’ve been looking around the web trying to decide about headed out to see Red starring Bruce Willis. Almost everyone to a tee has given Red a tentative thumbs up. For an action/comedy movie, it has it’s high points but the middle plot seems to kill the flow and the pace of the humor.

As an action flick, it might have a wee bit too much action but still, a comedic action flick with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich & Helen Mirren. Never mind the quick cameos by Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfuss and Ernest Borgnine.

If you go in looking for a fun action flick, I presume it will be just what you expect.

REDs Joe

For those folks/sites that use numerical scales, they’ve mostly scored it down the middle or a titch above. This is why I don’t use a scale to rate movies. Putting a vampire comedy up against a movie like Inception on the same scale just doesn’t pan out for this site.

The best praise for the movie comes from the movie review of Red from ScreenRant owner Vic. (Whose opinions I trust implicitly.) “RED is awesome.

Collider called it “an undeniably fun piece of Hollywood action entertainment fluff. The plot is paint by numbers,

Shockya gives it a B with the disclaimers that a weak story peppered with great actors can be overlooked.

The Post-Gazette, while liking it, said “It’s ridiculously and mindlessly violent for a PG-13 action comedy

So you be the judge. If you were on the bubble about seeing the movie, I hoped I helped. If not, well, these were at least a few opinions I’d toss out your way.
