Review of X-Men Origins: Wolverine

in Entertainment, movie reviews

I’ve finally gotten around to watching X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Yea, yea… I’m not on the front of the trending focus these days. At least not yet.

This is a terse review of the movie… no great novel explaining everything about it, but rather just an outline of a few thoughts. With that being said, …

I’ve heard it bashed and dissed from a lot of people. Especially from the people that had something to prove by saying they viewed it illegally in that stupid debacle where the movie was leaked, the version being pre-affects.

Whatever the reason for bashing it, I don’t know. Maybe it makes people feel better about themselves. Because I don’t get how it was so bad.

Regardless, when I rented it I went in with pretty low expectations. Then again, I come at these movies with a bit of a realistic expectation that it is a movie about a comic book. It’s not some literary piece of work that will change my life or set me on the path of righteousness.

I must say though that for a night of entertainment for some quality family time hanging out around the TV, no one in my house was unhappy with the movie.

We follow the life and times of Wolverine, from his misbegotten mutant youth, through various wars and up until the point where he remembers nothing.

We meet a lot of other mutants and are pretty cool to watch. Gambit was fun for us.

Was X-Men Origins: Wolverine a 10? No. But for what it was, I’d be O.K. saying it was a 7. Cinema Static on SoB Rating – 7 out of 10.
