This looks like something definitely worth checking out… especially if you’re a fan of any of the above cast like Amanda Tapping, Allison Mack or Emilie Ullerup.

Very cool and as we keep seeing, the Syfy Channel is keeping its promises about expanding into different mediums and such.  I can tolerate a little wrestling and other reality drabble if they keep this up.

Don’t forget, back in December I gave you a heads up that Allison Mack was headed to Riese & in April we saw that Syfy acquired the rights to Riese.

Let’s keep something else in mind Riese fans:  Syfy made the statement that Riese was coming to their web channel and “Maybe a promo run on air if we can swing it.”

Cinema Static Conjecture About Riese

“If we can swing it,” to me, means if they see a sh*…  boatload of web traffic hitting up their new web series, that could motivate them to create a potential TV series.  What we need to do is casually mention the series to friends, just happen to bring it up when we have visitors and see if we can sway some attention on the web series.

For now, that’s it.

Check out the press release from NBC / Syfy Channel:

Said Engler: “We saw Riese and thought they had done just an amazing job, and then we were able to give them some resources and bring Amanda on board to really help them take the series to the next level. Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction and fantasy that features anachronistic technology and design elements, often from Victorian-era Britain.

Riese: Kingdom Falling won the Streamy Award for Best Cinematography in a Web Series with a further three nominations for Best Sound Design, Best Foreign Series and Art Direction.  The series was shot in Vancouver, BC, created by Ryan Copple and Kaleena Kiff, and produced by Galen Fletcher and Nicholas Humphries.

Eleysia is a dying kingdom where resources are dwindling and compassion is fading. Distrust and anxiety have clouded people’s minds, causing a regression into primitive ways of thinking. People have grown restless, almost feral. Rituals and mythology have resurged, and the darker side of mankind has begun to reveal itself.

Riese (Christine Chatelain), a wanderer, travels across the decaying lands of Eleysia with her wolf, Fenrir. Marked as a heretic by religious group The Sect and the new Empress, Amara, Riese must evade their assassins and discover their true intentions for Eleysia.

Riese is the Crown Princess of Eleysia, forced to flee into the wilds after her family was slaughtered. She will soon serve as a catalyst for a disparate group of supposed heretics, the Resistance, launching them into civil war.

Emilie Ullerup pleaded on FB that anyone in the U.S. needs to log on and watch and give it good numbers. That’s what will convince Syfy to bring it to the airwaves… so convince your friends to at least check it out!
