Jonathan Bruce Welch

Jonathan Bruce Welch, a professor at Northeastern University for 32 years, died at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his family on March 16, 2009.

Born in Providence, R.I., he was a resident of Scituate, R.I..

Professor Welch, a graduate of Bridgton Academy. He was an avid sailor and a parishioner at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Scituate.

Mr. Welch leaves his wife of 45 years, Sue Ellen (Munroe); daughters and sons-in-law Heather and Michael Harriman of Scituate, Stephanie and Ambrosio Rufino of Washington, D.C. and Amy and Thomas Hern, Jr. of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Harriman and Jonathan Rufino.

He was the son of the late Reverend Elbridge Welch and Charlotte Myers Welch.

Rest In Peace Uncle. I will miss our conversations. Say hi to grandfather when you see him!
