Rise of the Planet of the Apes is treading on holy ground of a sorts.
They have huge shoes to fill, considering the franchises history and its fans. But if this first teaser trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes is any clue, then we may have ourselves a soluble winner…

The movie comes out August 5th, starring James Franco as the scientist in pursuit of a cure for Alzheimer’s using chimps and well, then, we know where it’s headed… but it will be fun to see it actually happen. I’m surprised we haven’t seen a prequel to this franchise before this, but I’m also glad we haven’t so it can be (hopefully) done right.
