Ron Perlman has landed the role of the single father, Corin, in the Marcus Nispel’s remake of Conan the Barbarian, titled Conan.

For weeks we’ve been hearing that Mickey Rourke was being considered for the role in Conan.  Key phrase, considered.  But when Rourke ended up taking a role in the War of Gods project, that would have seemed to open the door for Ron Perlman to step into the role, or be selected.

Ron Perlman is developing one heck of an entertainment portfolio that includes the Hell Boy franchise, Mutant Chronicles, Outlander, Blade II and the TV role of Clay in the most awesome show, Sons of Anarchy.  This list just scratches the surface of everything he’s been doing.  It’s good to be employed!

Projects that Ron Perlman is also participating in, in addition to the Conan project are The Legend of Secret Pass, The Job, Bunraku, Marmaduke, Season of the Witch, Crave and Killer by Nature.

Ron Perlman joins Jason Momoa as Conan, as well as other cast members Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Bob Sapp and Leo Howard, with filming slated to start later this month in the far off Conan-like land of Bulgaria.

Now all we have to do, is patiently wait until 2011, when Conan is slated to be released.
