RSS Graffiti Facebook AppFor anyone on Facebook with their website, if you have not checked in on your apps on a frequent or recent basis, you might want to prepare yourself for what is about to happen.

As of May 1st, 2015, RSS Graffiti will discontinue providing post-to-Facebook services. The reason they are discontinuing the product is because “less than 0.25% of clients see enough value to pay for the service.

“As of May 1, 2015, RSS Graffiti will no longer be available on either a free, or paid, basis to power Facebook automation for you.”

So if you have been auto-populating your Facebook page for your website, you MIGHT want to take a double take.

It’s a shame it is going away, and to be honest, they provided one of my accounts with a free subscription to test and talk about on BruSimm here, but I did not move forward and pay for the service on my other pages.

This problem seems two-fold. Folks took the free service for what it was and blew them off, and they did not force the issue by insisting on a paid level of support for continued use after so many days. Plus I am not sure why they aren’t pursuing an income-based avenue. If they’re going to shut down, why not try? Meh… who am I to say?

Either way, it is a shame the service is going away, and we all have only ourselves to blame for it. They say if you intend to, you need to pursue an alternate route for providing to your pages.
