Wentworth Miller as Spartacus?

With the end of the first season of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, it also sadly has heralded the end of Andy Whitfield‘s moving and powerful portrayal of the lead role of Spartacus. Andy has had to drop out of the production series to tend to his illness and stomp out that Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Right now EW.com is reporting that Wentworth Miller (Prison Break, Resident Evil Afterlife) has expressed interest in the role of Spartacus in the Starz action series.
To be honest, this is one of those website traffic snagging posts where someone tosses out that, in this case, Wentworth Miller, has somewhere chatted up the idea of taking the role. Then someone went with it and splattered it onto the web. I tend to avoid conjecture posts. I can best serve my time scribbling up the real news and developments that take place. Yet when I dropped this conjectural piece and my wife’s eyes lit up I guess the premise had some merit. LOL.
So there you have it… I think Miller has the look and verbal tone… but he’s going to need to really work at the body. Then again Andy wasn’t the super-buffed gladiator in the first few episodes, but rather, developed into the role. Maybe that could happen here if Wentworth Miller’s desire to fill the role becomes more concrete.
In the meantime, I am seriously looking forward to the next season of Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Wentworth is amazing talented actor.He’ll be awesome as Spartacus or any character he does.I wish he gets the role.I miss him so much,it’ll be a great choice to see him in this show.
I don’t know Andy but I wish for him to recover soon & come back to his job in other shows or movies.I can’t blame the production company of taking the decision to move on.This’s business & there’s people their life depends on this income,so it’s hard to wait till Andy gets full recovermnt & rest b4 he be able to work again.
I’ve never heared about this show & I’ll see it just if Went gets the role!!
He did the boxer role in THE HUMAN STAIN so well.His performance was lovely & emotional in this movie,though it didn’t get the success which it deserved.
Went is brilliant & he’s way way better than many other actors who r more famous than him.He’ll be wonderfull in this role.I’m sure
