Martin Truex’s younger brother, Ryan Truex, will be running in 6 NASCAR Nationwide Series races in 2010, with the plan being to go full-time in 2011 in the NNS.

Ryan’s first race will be at Gateway Raceway just outside of St. Louis on July 17th.  His other races planned for are Michigan, Richmond, Kansas the fall Charlotte race and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Ryan is still be looking to defend his 2009 K&N Filters Pro Series East championship by competing in those 10 events this year also.

I’ve seen him race in the Pro Series East…  he definitely stands out amongst the crowd there and he’s easy to root for.  He’s about as stoic or quiet as his brother is, but as Martin said on the radio yesterday, he’s quiet, but once he puts that helmet on, he’s something to contend with.  (Paraphrased because I can’t freaking remember word for word.  Getting old sucks!)

Oh, and Ryan just turned 18 on March 18th.
