According to press interviews with a few drivers, the new tires that Goodyear tested at Indy are pretty good now.
That’s good news because I don’t think I could handle all those 10-lap trophy dashes again. Last year was an emotionally painful experience.
In a press telecast interview with a few drivers, they had some good things to say about the latest Goodyear tire test.
Kasey Kahne said: “I feel like it’s a really good tire. I feel like it’s going to be to me a great race because the tire is better than it’s been.”
Comparing this new tire to the old tire, Kurt Busch said: “I feel like it’s a really good tire. I feel like it’s going to be to me a great race because the tire is better than it’s been.”
Jeff Gordon: “ I’m very pleased with the results. I was very surprised to see how much rubber was on the track yesterday when I arrived, and just to see how the tires are reacting from a grip level with the car as well as how it’s wearing the tire, heat in the tire. I mean, everything looks great at the Brickyard 400 and go out there and run hard, and tire wear is not even going to be in the back of our minds.”
So from what I can tell, we will have a good race at Indianapolis… at least in regards to tire issues.
