So You Think You Can Dance Question from Cinema Static

I’ve got So You Think You Can Dance on the tube right now and I am shaking my head at what piece they’ve given this one pair of dancers.  And I’ve seen this in previous episodes of this show:  In this era, when the audience is a modern day audience with modern dance tastes, why are they giving the young dancers peices from A White Christmas and other songs from musical stage shows?

In my mind, it’s like a voting suicide!  Why would folks get inspired to call in for something that doesn’t connect with them.  I tend to feel bad for the dancers that get these musical / era pieces.

I just don’t know why we’ve seen so many of these pieces this year.

Anyone got any thoughts on this issue?
