Last week a few headlines that caught my eye included stuff from Iron Man 3, Hasbro game movies, Michael Bay eyeballing a new time travel movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Kick-Ass 2. They’re just tidbits but I found them curiously interesting.
First up…
Word on the street is that, get this, the first Iron Man 3 trailer premiere date, has been announced. Yep, premiere dates for trailers including premiere dates of movies. I get a kick out that.
The trailer is due out on October 23rd.

Hasbro is eyeballing more movies on some of their properties. Those properties are Monopoly, Hungry Hungry Hippo and Action Man.
I’m not the creative one here, but I’m really not seeing a good Monopoly premise, unless they come up with some kind of alien invasion … oh, never mind.

Looks like Michael Bay is jumping in on the already overly saturated found footage movie market by cranking out a sci-fi time traveling movie in that style of filming. It will be called Almanac.
Hmm, time travel, found footage. I’m sure he’ll crank out something hugely popcorn fun, but I can’t help but wonder what recent inspirations he was motivated by?

It’s been reported that the same guy that directed the first/latest reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man, is on board for the sequel. That’s director Marc Webb. Which in and of itself, is a curious coincidence with that last name of his.

Have you heard that there’s a chance that Scarlett Johansson might show up in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? That can’t hurt the movie at all! Later rumors suggest her appearance is confirmed.
-
Did you know that Kick-Ass 2 is in production? Yep, the vengeance filled youth from the first movie is back at it in a sequel. It stars Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Jim Carrey, and Donald Faison. It’s due in theaters on June 28, 2013.
