I just a great piece of news in the mail… and that is that Stargate Atlantis is coming to Blu-ray on August 28, 2012. And it’s not just one season, but all five seasons of Stargate Atlantis can be had individually. (Available as individual season sets for the first time ever on Blu-ray)
When all is said and done with the extras, there will be 83 hours of fun!
As we all know SGA ran five seasons and was cut due to production costs and to make way for the production of Stargate Universe. Many fans were upset because the light-hearted approach of SGA was replaced with what could only be called an attempt at replicating the dark dramatic feel of the successful Battlestar Galactica remake.
Universe lost some long-time Stargate fans, but started drawing in its own fan base. But scheduling sort of cursed it. But as it stands, Stargate Atlantis has been held near and dear to the fans of the franchise and now fans can get their favorite season of the series in a new Blu-ray release… what awesome news for fans.
