Friday night’s episode of Stargate Universe, titled “Human,” showed us the back-story of Dr. Rush (Robert Carlyle), showing us a side of Dr. Rush that I had no clue existed, and it explained an awful lot about his demeanor.
To see him go through an event a 2nd time that no one I know would want to go through even once was heart-rending to watch.
I believe this Stargate Universe episode on the Syfy Channel was a great hour of TV and could very well be the turning point where we are going to start seeing a nicer Dr. Rush… he had his own Christmas Ghosts show him the way while being connected to the Destiny’s computers.
It was awesome to see Michael Shanks again in the role of Daniel Jackson. He’s looking good folks.
I have yet to find the prelimary TV cable ratings for the Stargate Universe episode, though I know the April 16th episode of Stargate Universe drew in 1.4 million viewers.
If you’ve been bailing on SGU due to the apathetic slow plot lines from in the first 10 episodes, I think the production staff heard everyone and ramped up the action and the depth of which the plots connect the characters and their present situation. Not to mention that what Dr. Rush was trying to do with the Destiny may indeed be a total game changer in how the show has developed up to this point in time in the series.
I think it’s worth looking into Stargate Universe again, and see how it may have changed. Though I do have one gripe in that the preview trailers for next week’s episode gives an awful lot away as far as the development and predicament of some characters, but I’ll leave that for you to find out.
