Sucker Punch Movie Promo Poster 00 - Baby DollWarner Bros. has taken a big marketing leap and released forty-five new images from the Zack Snyder directed Sucker Punch.  Forty-five?  Sucker Punch comes out on March 25th and the marketing engine seems to have launched.

For me there are a few warning signs about a movie’s quality.  Lack of early critic screenings, hence no early reviews.  And an over-saturation of marketing materials for a project.

Guess what I’m thinking?  Yea, well, this movie will have at least one solid contingent, and that’s the younger male demographic admiring the abundance of short skirts and girls with guns.  How cool can that be?  OK, see what I mean?

Sucker Punch official Synopsis:

Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared.

“Sucker Punch” is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.

She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls—the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) and the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung)—to band together and try to escape a terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac) and Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino), before the mysterious High Roller (Jon Hamm) comes for Babydoll.

Hey Courtney, no no, not argue… just pointing out different perspectives.

I’ve read movie reviews that differ wildly about SUCKER PUNCH. Some point to the script not being that great to reviews saying that if you like epic action movies this is the movie for you! I’m mixed. I like action flicks but if the script isn’t that hot, ie: dialog predictable, right now I’m leaning towards waiting on seeing this.

But yea, Zack Snyder does some cool things with the movies he’s directed in the past, that’s for sure.

I’m a little worried about Sucker Punch too. I really really want this movie to be great, because I admire Snyder’s artistic talent. But, rumor said, the early screening is not very impressive. But I guess Snyder probably has enough fans to make sure that at least it will be a decent box-office.
