‘Super 8’ Newest Teaser Is An Interactive Game Map & Where’s Slusho?

This really isn’t a movie trailer or teaser for Super 8, but more an interactive movie teaser journey through yet some more clues for those that are following the clues closely.  And it was found as an ingenious little  extra map in Portal 2, called “e1912.”

In this newest game teaser for Super 8, the map takes the gamer through the train car that’s transporting our alien or entity or E.T. or Cloverfield‘s baby (It’s not, I’m just having fun with you) or what ever it is.

It’s just under 4 minutes and whatever you do, don’t try clicking on what looks like clickable goodies, this is a capture. The train car you’re in gets hit by the truck right after the 1:30 minute mark.

You clicked, didn’t you?

You can compare the above footage to their first Super 8 teaser that came out:

J.J. Abrams, if anything, has an awesome team of talent that would seem to love their jobs and it shows as the detailed viral pitches for Abrams’ projects are always pretty fun. In this case, they’ve found a neat new platform for a quick mini-pitch of their latest project, Super 8, which opens in theaters June 10, 2011.

Super 8 stars Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Joel Courtney, Gabriel Basso, Noah Emmerich, Ron Eldard, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills.

Cinema Static Extra Tidbit: Movie Shoot locations included

  • DeStefano’s, Follansbee, West Virginia, USA
  • Los Angeles, California, USA
  • Weirton, West Virginia, USA

Super 8 is a Paramount Pictures Release

Now, if Abrams stays consistent, I know we’ll more than likely see some form of Slusho in the movies. Has anyone seen it in the trailers or teasers yet? I haven’t noticed it yet! (A bit of Slusho History) My only concern is that the year that Super 8 takes place in may predate Slusho and it may not show up. We’ll see!

Fascinating Update [4/20/11; 2112 hrs]

This directly from Popwatch on the video game map name e1912:

1912 is the year that of the Titanic catastrophe. Also, “e” is the fifth letter of the alphabet, and May is the fifth month of the year, and in May of 1912, The New York Times reported that the remains of 18 “gigantic humans” were discovered in Wisconsin. Could the monster in Super 8 be one of these “gigantic humans”?

Too cool!
