Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki in Supernatural

In 2012, Supernatural will be getting its own animated rendition of the show and it will be coming to Japan & it’s called Supernatural: The Animation.

The below Supernatural preview is in Japanese, but I think you get the drift that it does cover the origins of the series.

The bright side about a serious animated series is the lack of limitations on special effects and the action could be more animated…  and I don’t mean as in animated presentation but how a character animates into action.

This series will more or less cover the first season’s of stories and have a few additional original stories throughout the first season.  It’s coming to DVD & Blu-ray in late February in Japan and more than likely, we won’t get to see it.

If a viewer can wrap their mind around an animated representation of a franchise there are definite advantages to the venue.  Especially these days with the adult oriented animated franchises that are still digestible by kids, much like the wonderful representation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network.

Check out this great preview trailer for Supernatural: The Animation.
