Supernatural: What Can We Look Forward To in 2010? [Cinema Static]

We have a long break before the next installment of Supernatural airs on The CW Network and TV Guide Magazine chatted up executive producer of Supenatural, Sera Gamble to pick her brains as to what might be in store for the Winchester brothers (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki) when the show returns.

For starters, Dean and Sam check themselves into an insane asylum to investigate some ghostly wrong doings.  The episode will have a bit of a zombie twist to it.

There’s no news (that they’re letting on) about God, though Misha Collins (Cas) thought it would be cool if they cast Miley Cyrus.  (Is he daft?)

We do finally get to meet the Archangel Michael.  As we know, Michael has a hankering for the only vessel he can inhabit, Dean.

There’s a sinister Valentine’s day episode coming up.

Some Winchester family members will be showing up in flashbacks, but nothing on the idea of it being John Winchester though.  Damnit.  Sorry.

I like what they’ve got going this year in this 5th season of Supernatural.

Though Eric Kripke previously said he only had a 5 year story arc in his mind when he came to The CW, he’s addressed the premise of continuing on if the ratings are good enough.  I can only hope they are good enough to carry the show on further… but then Kripke better come up with something else.  His entire show / premise was based on a start, middle and end with God and the Devil being part of that end.  Not sure how that can be topped, but I think if the man behind the 2005 Boogeyman project (co-producer), Kripke had to, he can.

He’s that kind of awesome twisted!
