Brusimm Cinema Static TV NewsSyfy channel ordered a new show from Mark Burnett and Seth Jarrett, called School Spirits.  If you think you recognized the names, well, yes, Mark Burnett is the creator of some popular reality TV shows, like Survivor and The Apprentice.  Jarrett is known for the TV show, Celebrity Ghost Stories.

In this newest of Syfy‘s plethora of ghost shows, School Spirits will recount what they say are true ghost stories of hauntings from schools across the country, and the retellings will done in first person narratives from what testimonials they have from real students, teachers, parents and staff.

Of course, the first person retellings will be accompanied by what they call “bone-chilling cinematic reenactments” to bring the these testimonials to life.

“School hauntings are some of the most terrifying first-hand accounts. The stories that have terrified generations of students and teachers are not for the faint-of-heart,” said Mark Stern, President of Original Programming, Syfy and Co-Head of Content for Universal Cable Productions. “With Mark and Seth as executive producers, we look forward to delivering another gripping paranormal series for our viewers.”

Syfy ordered six one-hour episodes of the idea.

I’m starting to think the network should consider renaming itself from Syfy to GhostFy.
