Syfy channel LogoWe have some great news about Syfy series premieres for Merlin, Being Human, Face Off, Ghost Hunters, Lost Girl and more.

Merlin

First up…  Syfy‘s Merlin season 4 will be premiering on Friday, January 6th, 2012.

Colin Morgan plays Merlin, Bradley James is the young Prince Arthur, Angel Coulby is Gwen and Katie McGrath plays the evil, and outcast Morgana. Anthony Head returns as King Uther and Richard Wilson as Gaius.

Merlin is a great little entertaining piece that takes an old tale and spins a great new angle that’s pretty entertaining to follow.  It’s like a prequel of sorts.  And it grows on you from episode to episode!

Being Human

Being Human will be returning to Syfy for its second season premiere on January 16th, 2012.

Being Human stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington as a vampire, ghost and werewolf, as this series, based on an idea from Toby Whithouse.  And so far, the series has pretty much followed the original series outline, so there’s been no real surprises, but it’s still a great sci-fi drama on Syfy.  I think it’s one of their bests shows they have to offer.

Face Off

Face Off returns for a second season on Syfy!  Face Off returns to Syfy for its second season, bringing with it 14 new aspiring artists.  Judges for Face Off will include multiple Academy Award-winner Ve Neill, famed special make-up effects artist Glenn Hetrick and director and creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos. McKenzie Westmore hosts the series.  Guests lined up to visit the show includes Vivica Fox, musical artist Asher Roth and noted horror makeup artist Tom Savini.

When I first tuned in to Face Off, I did so a few episodes in because the premise didn’t really draw me in.  But watching the behind-the-scenes methods the contestants used to make great creations caught my attention.  It was pretty fascinating!  I was hooked for the rest of the season, and it wasn’t bad at all.

Ghost Hunters

Ghost Hunters will be returning on January 11th for its eigth season, as TAPS continues to miraculously pursue the many haunted locations the head out to with their ghost hunting gear!  Syfy ordered twenty episodes of scary entertainment.

Seriously, does anyone believe in all the stuff going on, or do you think someone is off in the wings pulling strings and hitting buttons?

Lost Girl

Don’t forget that Syfy picked up a new series called Lost Girl, which will have its season premiere on Monday,  January 16th, 2012.  It’s about a Succubus that discovers what she is when she accidentally kills her boyfriend!  It stars Anna Silk.
