Syfy Movie ‘Battle of Los Angeles’ TV Ratings & It’s Surprisingly Good

'Battle of Los Angeles' Syfy MovieHave you ever found yourself staring at a train-wreck and not be able to look away?  Apparently over two million TV viewers were caught in the same conundrum, as 2.18 million viewers tuned in to watch the Syfy Channel‘s “original” Saturday night movie, Battle of Los Angeles.  That garnered the Syfy channel a 1.6 household rating for the night, making the movie the third Syfy movie to break the 2 million viewer mark.

Amongst those 2+ million viewers, there were 931k adults in the 25-54 demographic that tuned in to Battle of Los Angeles, making it the highest in that demo for a Saturday Original Movie on Syfy since the October presentation of Red: Werewolf Hunter.

I don’t mean to be nasty about it, but I’m stunned.  Battle of Los Angeles was one of the hardest movies to get through and yet it pulled in 2M viewers.  That’s a weird kind of impressive.  If you want to know what I really thought, you can check out my review of Battle of Los Angeles.

Personally, I’d love to see the hour-by-hour break-down of those 2 million viewers.  How many tuned in or tuned out throughout the 2 hour event, as it were.  How many tuned in, being fooled by the almost exact name of another movie that was in theaters that weekend?  Maybe these were reality TV junkies looking for similar wares for a Saturday night?

If I find the hour-by-hour breakdowns, I’ll post them here.

In the meantime, I have to say congrats to the Syfy channel for pulling in those kinds of numbers with Battle of Los Angeles.
