Eureka TV News:

It was announced today (8/4/11) that the Syfy network has renewed the popular series, Eureka.

Syfy has ordered 13 episodes for a fifth season of the show that stars Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield & Neil Grayson.

It’s a great little show that has fun with sci-fi themed plots based in a town whose sole existence is to create “things” for the military and other scientific endeavors.  Of course, the show doesn’t take itself too seriously while they have their little catastrophes that range from elementary school science fairs gone wrong, to accidental space flights when someone shuts  a hatch that closes the circuit that launches the ship.

The show is great, light-hearted fun.

In addition to the fifth season noted, Syfy says they have a commitment to an additional 6 episodes that carries the show into a 6th season and they hope that they get the show to last beyond that point.

For the time being, Eureka is going like gang-busters but to be honest, but it’s all about the ratings.  So if viewers keep tuning in, then fans have nothing to worry about.
