Neverland

First thing’s first, and I was wondering how Neverland on Syfy fared in the TV ratings.  Neverland was the Peter Pan prequel from the same folks that brought you Alice and Tin Man.

Syfy sent out a press release touting the first part’s TV ratings.

For the first two-hour evening of Neverland that aired on Sunday, December 4th, 2011, during the 9-11PM slot, it pulled in 2.59 million total viewers.

They never released a follow-up, but I found that the 2nd 2-hour session of Neverland pulled in 2.094 million viewers (live/Same Day).  So it wasn’t as bad as I suspected.

For the month of January, the two Saturday Original Movies airing on Syfy include Collision Earth and Swamp Volcano.

Collision Earth airs January 14th and stars Kirk Acevedo (Fringe) and Diane Farr (Californication).

In this epic TV movie,

{A solar flare knocks Mercury out of its orbit and onto a collision course with Earth. With global devastation quickly approaching, the secret military initiative, “Project 7,” must be activated to save the world from disaster.}

Swamp Volcano airs January 28th 2012, is about oil!

{Oil rig drillers in the Gulf of Mexico accidentally hit an underground lava flow, causing a massive volcano to form in Miami. Now a volcanologist and her sister attempt to blow the whistle on an illegal oil drilling scheme before it sets off the eruption that will destroy civilization.}

IF you’re interested,

Tracey Gold (Growing Pains) can be caught in an upcoming new Syfy Saturday Original Movie called Arachnoquake.  Yes, Aracho, as in spider-o!

Arachnoquake is slated to premiere on Syfy in 2012 and Gold will have costars Bug Hall (The Little Rascals), Ethan Phillips (Star Trek: Voyager) and Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) along for the ride.

In Arachnoquake

Earthquakes break open an ancient subterranean prison and free some giant albino spiders.  The giant spiders, apparently very hungry, go on a murderous rampage through New Orleans.

Right now the movie is filming in Louisiana & is a production of Active Entertainment. Arachnoquake is directed by Griff Furst (Swamp Shark).

Lost Girl

Zoie Palmer & Anna Silk in 'Lost Girl'

Don’t forget the scripted supernatural drama, Lost Girl, starring Anna Silk & Kris Holden-Ried is premiering on Monday, January 16th at 10 PM.

They’re calling it an original series, but like Being Human, it’s origins lie elsewhere, it has a third season coming up in Canada.  But rather than remaking it, they’re airing the original episodes.  Nice!!!

Lost Girl focuses on the extremely hot-looking character named Bo, who is a succubus.  A creature that feeds on sexual energy.  But as she discovers who and what she is, she learnd to control her “condition” and starts to use her powers to help people.

LOST GIRL premiering on Syfy

Yea, yea…  Angel, The Vampire Diaries… but finally, a hot chick the young guys can watch!
