STP Sponsoring Races

News on the street is that STP will be sponsoring two different NASCAR races at the beginning of June… The June 4th Nationwide race at Chicago and the June 5th Cup race at Kansas.

Trevor Bayne News Bits

He’s won the Daytona 500 and if he had not, this would probably not be as big a news as we’re making it, but the kid survived some kind of bug bite the other day that sent him to the hospital. It turned out to be a reaction to the bite.

Zoinks.

On the bright side, Trevor Bayne will be running the Sprint All-Star Race because his team, the Wood Brothers Racing shop landed him a sponsor for that event.  Good Sam Club will be sponsoring him for the event. Good Sam Club is a sister company to Camping World.

Have you been wondering what to do this weekend while you’re in the Charlotte area for the 26th running of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race that’s happening on Saturday (SPEED, 7 p.m.)?

This year in the All-Star race, a yet another new twist has been added to the event!  Of course it’s going to be four segments, concluding with a 10-lap shootout and a $1 million purse to the winner.   But now when the green flag drops for the final segment: once the field takes a lap behind the pace car, all cars must enter pit road for a four-tire stop. The order in which the cars exit off pit road is how they will line up for the final 10 laps, placing an even greater premium on the performance of the pit crews.

You’ve probably already caught the 6th Annual NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge at Time Warner Cable Arena.  This year, the event’s finishing order determined pit selection for either the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race or that event’s “preliminary,” the Sprint Showdown.
