Has Sanctuary Been Canceled By Syfy? To be honest, fans have no hard evidence via press reports or Twitter slips by any of the cast or crew of Sanctuary. But fans are wondering and circumstantial evidence seems to be adding up.

There is speculation out on the web that the Syfy series Sanctuary may not be coming back for a fifth season on the Comcast owned, NBC subsidiary network. And in the wake of how the much beloved Eureka TV series was canceled, making the upcoming fifth season in 2012 of Eureka its last, the speculations have me wondering.
This article was sparked around by a readers’ email I received today and I thought that they brought up some good points that I’d share with you, my readers. In addition, I slap out a few more tidbits that I dug up out on the web.
The reader points will be labeled ‘RP.’

RP: The Syfy network has had nothing to say about another season for Sanctuary.
Yep… no news is usually good news and with the Syfy network, they tend to stall their announcements to as late as possible with any of their programming.
I’ve touched no this previously, surmising that when other other networks already know their lineups, Syfy usually waits to make their announcements. I think it’s a marketing game because I can’t imagine any business like a TV cable network not knowing their schedule so few months ahead of time.

RP: The title of the season (series?) finale “Sanctuary for None” is the exact opposite of the series beginning “Sanctuary for All.” There was no cliffhanger ending.
Michael Shanks was probably one of my favorite characters from the Stargate franchise, but then again, a lot of the actors/characters could be categorized as a favorite. Maybe I’ll say that he’s one of my favorite entertainment genre actors.
As it is, I’ve only seen Michael Shanks in a few things since Stargate was cut off at the knees canceled by Syfy. But neither has he been asleep at his career’s wheel though! Which I’m glad to see.
Michael Shanks was born December 15th, 1970 in Vancouver and he’s married to Lexa Doig (Andromeda, Stargate SG-1, 2010 series V) and they have two kids.
He’s been nominated several times for awards in relation to his Daniel Jackson role in Stargate and has won two Leo Awards: (2009: Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Feature Length Drama for Stargate: Continuum; 2004: Dramatic Series: Best Lead Performance by a Male for Stargate SG-1.)

Throughout the Stargate franchise series run, he’s had some stellar episodes where some hit the heart strings hard and others just exemplify a humoring sarcastic mode dealing with Jack O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson).
But I’ve only seen him in one other entertainment venue since then, and that was his short-lived role in the movie, Red Riding Hood.
But it’s not that he hasn’t done anything. I’ve only missed his other works since Stargate SG-1. He’s actually been busy and staying employed within the field of acting.
Hey gang, Bruce here. I just caught wind of the what Syfy has planned for the 2011 San Diego Comic Con. If any attendees who are Syfy channel fans, I think you’ll very much like what Syfy has in store for the Comic Con weekend. You had better prepare and schedule your days accordingly!
check it out:
Shows showing up at at the annual San Diego event include
Syfy will also be taking over the Hard Rock Hotel and setting up shop with their Cafe Diem, the popular food hot-spot that’s featured in Eureka.
Syfy is also teaming up with E! to host the big party of the weekend, called The Syfy/E! Comic Con Party. It takes place at the Hotel Solamar in the the Gaslamp district. The party will be streamed on both E! Online and Syfy.com, hosted by E!’s Ben Lyons and Jael de Pardo (Syfy’s Fact or Faked).
After the break, check out their Comic-Con panel times:
Stargate Universe returns to the Syfy Channel from its mid-season break on Monday, March 7th, 2011. Stargate Universe cast includes Robert Carlyle, Louis Ferreira, Brian J. Smith, David Blue, Alaina Huffman and Jamil Walker Smith who plays my near, all-time favorite character of Master Sgt. Ronald Greer.
I’m happy to see Stargate Universe return to Syfy, but the return marks a sad premiere as this premiere marks the last ten episodes of the series, ever.
I’m watching the Stargate Universe marathon on Syfy as I write this and I’m really going to miss the show. The stories are intricately detailed and evolving as each episode forwards the story of the castaways stuck on the Destiny as they tackle their survival on the ship as they deal with it, each other and the challenges presented to them on the journey of the Destiny.
First up, the returning TV series coming back to the Syfy Channel:
Stargate Universe– Monday, March 7
Sanctuary – Friday, April 15
Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files – Season 2 Premiere March 23
Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen – Series Premiere March 22
Destination Truth: Live St. Patrick’s Day Investigation — March 17
The return of Stargate Universe (SGU) marks the return of the final ten episodes of the series as it signs off for the final time since the show was not renewed. SGU stars the most excellent Robert Carlyle, Louis Ferreira, Brian J. Smith, Ming-Na, Alaina Huffman and more. I know it is not possible, but wouldn’t it be funny if a huge amount of people tuned it, giving it huge numbers? Eh, don’t worry, March 7th is a Monday, taking it off of the Tuesday death slot the first half of the second season aired in.
Sanctuary is getting a 4th season on the Syfy Channel as the network has just announced today the pickup for a 13-episode season, heralding quite an achievement for a series that is shot almost entirely on green screen.
Sanctuary stars Amanda Tapping, Robin Dunne, Agam Darshi, Ryan Robbins and Christopher Heyerdahl and is shot almost exclusively with a RED camera.
Amanda Tapping is also an executive producer of what was originally a web-based series, and is most notably known for the debacle prior to season three when Emilie Ullerup was mysteriously let go and replaced by Agam Darshi. A move that did not set well with many fans of the series and to date, has never really been explained clearly enough for some of the hard-core fans. It seems the move did lose the show some fans, but not all the fans.
The following is a preview clip for Sanctuary episode 304, titled “Trail of Blood” Starring Amanda Tapping, Christopher Heyerdahl (This week as Bigfoot) & Robin Dunne.
Welcome to another quickie episode recap, this one for the Syfy Channel series Sanctuary, the episode titled “Firewall.”
Will (Robin Dunne) is distracted from his day-to-day duties by his “Cali” death experience.
Magnus (Amanda Tapping) pulls him from the missions until he gets his head back on straight.
Just around the same time, the gang starts thinking they’re seeing or hearing things around the mansion. A noise here, something out of the corner of the eye there.
Starting October 26th, 2010, The Syfy Channel website will begin streaming the award-winning web series, Riese, in a series titled Riese: Kingdom Falling. The 10-part web series will be streamed every Tuesday and Thursday starting October 26th and will feature some rather well known & beloved actors.
