New DVD and Blu-ray Titles This Week [Drive Angry, True Blood, SGU, Kubrick]

New Movies & TV on DVD and Blu-rayFor this week, I’ve counted around 200 new DVD & Blu-ray titles coming out on Tuesday, May 31st.  Amongst the new DVD titles we have Drive Angry, Psych‘s fifth season and True Blood‘s third season.  And sadly, Stargate Universe last season comes out this week on DVD.

If you’re a consummate Stanley Kubrick fan, you are going to be happily going broke!  We’re also getting ourselves some Tom Cruise, John Wayne, Richard Dreyfuss, Nicolas Cage, and Anna Paquin coming to our home entertainment screens.

What seems to be bigger than the new movies coming to disc is the large collection of some impressive classics coming out on Blu-ray…

AMERICAN CHOPPER is not Chopped From TV! Returning for 7th …

American Chopper on TLC

In case you thought that the various legal and emotional issues of the Teutul clan may have killed TLC’s American Chopper, think again!  TLC has somehow managed to wrangle new deals and contracts with the lot of them and the Teutuls will be coming back!

I am very surprised, but then again, drama like theirs sure can generate some good TV ratings.

We all wanna watch the train wrecks, and I’m guessing that is what TLC is betting on.  If Kate plus 8 or whatever the bloody h*** that name of the show was brought in big ratings when they both finally turned on each other (Like, was anyone surprised when it finally happened?  She was so nasty to the hubster throughout that show, if he had more spine, this split would have happened sooner!), yea, we’ll wanna see this family spat indeed on one more season of American Chopper!  (I wonder if they’re going to cover “both” shops now?)

American Chopper Ending This Thursday Night (2-11)

After some in-fighting and what not, since Paul Jr. left the job / show and started his own business…  go figure.

Teutel Father & Son Legal Squabble [Cinema Static]

Most family fueds end in spats that fizzle out and everyone gets back on track being family.

With Paul Teutul Sr. and Jr., it’s a little bit different.

If you remember at the front of season 6 of American Chopper, the Pauls’ got into it and the son was fired.

Paul Sr. filed a lawsuit against Paul Jr. to determine just how much he has to pay Paul Jr..

To be exact, it’s to get an appraiser to value the company, and to have injunction brought against Paulie to not engage in competitive business tactices or to interfere with the business relationships with suppliers.  Paulie has started up his own business called  Paul Jr. Designs.

At this point, Sr. is asking for a million in damages from Paulie.

It’s a sad family squabble that makes it to this stage of legal battle.

Paul Teutul Sr. To Appear in Kansas City [Cinema Static]

For the Paul Teutul Sr. fan in all of us, some of you in Kansas City are going to get a chance to catch a gander of the American Chopper reality TV show star.

He is scheduled to appear at the grand opening party of the establishment called Backfire BBQ.  I love barbecue, but then, who doesn’t!?

Paul Teutul Sr. will be there on Monday, December 7th 2009.

Backfire BBQ is located at The Legends at Village West; 1855 Village West Parkway; Kansas City, KS 66111-1880.

Paul Teutul Sr. To Guest-Star on The Tonight Show
