Ricky Byers is headed to Talladega with a goal in mind.  That goal is to generate $2000 so he can partake in the ARCA Event, but the catch is he needs this by Monday if he’s going to enter the ARCA event.  But in so doing, my belief is that he’ll be running a car under the Racing for a Cure banner.  His own team formed after he, himself has beaten the ugly C word twice.

Head on over to his website, check out his story, and if you feel you can, click on that DONATE like on the left.  Thanks!

Narain Karthikeyan (India) and Darryl O’Young (Hong Kong) came out in December for an ARCA test at Daytona.

Who brought them out?

Starbeast Motorsports did.  Starbeast has a partnership of sorts with JTG-Daughtery, who in turn, has a partnership with Michael Waltrip Racing.

Karthikeyan, with Formula experience, seems more anxious to join the ranks of NASCAR… that is if he can get over “Putting your legs inside the car and twisting your body.” to get in the cars.

(I was able to get in one fine…  it’s the getting out part that’s hard!)

After getting used to the “bumpy” track and the amount of movement the ARCA car did, he’s ready to show up next year if a deal can be put together.

(Note:  Being that this was in December, I might presume that “next year” meant 2010?)

In the advertising deal of the century, the two most celebrated race drivers in marketing history will be under one roof, so to speak.

Well, one roof on a limited schedule.

Danica Patrick signed on with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s JR Motorsports to drive a limited (LIMITED) schedule in the NASCAR Nationwide Series starting in 2010.  LOL.  (Dale Jr. is not the sole owner of JRM.)

But as is par for Danica, they don’t know what races she’s running yet, which will be her first race or anything else I’m guessing.  So the announcement will come Tuesday, but it will be a short one!

BUT, she will be entered into the February 7th ARCA race at Daytona and will be testing in an ARCA car December 18th to 20th at Daytona.

A limited schedule.  Which to me, means limited learning, limited experience, limited respect, etc., etc..
