This is a quick TV review of Storm War* on the Syfy Network.

*First up, on my cable TV menu, it’s referred to as Storm Wars. Under IMDb, it’s called Weather Wars, and on the Syfy network website, they call it Storm War! I guess you pick which title you prefer!

This was your classic Syfy Original Saturday Night movie popcorn fun, where I think the ranking should be measured in glasses of beer instead of stars… and the more the merrier!
Storm War (Storm Wars or Weather Wars) was directed by Todor Chapkanov and written by Paul A. Birkett. Chapkanov directing history includes Monsterwolf, Hammer of the Gods. Birkett’s experience includes Hellhounds, Ice Twisters and other such insta-classics!

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is unique to the United States. Many feel it’s the beginning of the Christmas shopping season and has its origins sometime in the 1960′s and became popularized in the 80′s.
A lot of retailers make way for shoppers by opening their doors at 5a.m.. Remember the old Mervyn’s ads, with the woman standing outside the store, muttering “Open, open, open.”? It was a funny ad in its day. Whatever the TV ads say, keep in mind that Black Friday is not the busiest shopping day of the year. It is for some malls, but the day itself has usually ranked the fifth to tenth busiest shopping day in the U.S.. The next to last day before Christmas is the big shopping day.
I usually have all my shopping done, but some years I’ll head out on Christmas Eve or the day before that to just enjoy the ambiance of the holiday shopping spirits. For some, it’s a frantic moment in time, for others, it does seem like a special event. Depending on how many hours one might put into it that is. I think the biggest hurdle to mall shopping is getting a parking space. Since I’m an early riser I can get to any mall when it opens and that is probably some of the most peaceful shopping you’ll ever have.
