Blade Runner Movie News
Classics are classics. 1982′s Blade Runner became a classic and has stayed such. It’s been said it had a slow start, but the story has strong staying power. The other day I was the movie coming on TV and I noticed the sales pitch was how it was a newer, modified version of the original, with added scenes and such. It made me grimace. I’m not sure about you, but once something makes it big, changing it up for modern fans just feels wrong. Wrong to me in some cases.
With the news of Ridley Scott will be tackling a new Blade Runner franchise movie, it gives me a sense of curious anticipation.
It’s not said whether this will be a sequel or prequel yet or even if they would reach out to Harrison Ford. But if Ford gets involved, I’m guessing either sequel or guest cameo. But that would be nice to see in any form.
Of course, there are hard-core movie fans that don’t think a sequel is needed or that Ridley Scott is stretching out, trying for one last hit movie before he retires. Or that this is yet another example of how the core mindset of Hollywood is rooted on established material rather than pulling up something new, aka, original.
