Hey gang, here’s some movie news updates for Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim monster movie. The news that came out this week:
First up, taming the rumor mill, it’s being reported the Willem Dafoe IS NOT in Pacific Rim. Apparently there’s a rumor floatin’ around that he’s in the movie.
Per Dafoe in a one-on-one, about being in the movie:
“If I am they haven’t told me.”

The Comic Con 2011 panel for Legendary Entertainment’s Pacific Rim had director & book author Guillermo del Toro, writer Travis Beacham and actors Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba and Charlie Day.
First up is that Guillermo del Toro is super-pleased with Legendary Pictures, and said so in some entertaining ways, like noting that finally there’s a film company that has the vision to let filmmakers make movies the way they want.
The cast has been set with the perfect actors for the roles.
Idris Elba said that del Toro is great with the actors and has a great imagination.
Charlie Hunnam is thankful that del Toro started watching his Sons of Anarchy and got his attention that way.
