Brusimm Cinema Static TV NewsTV news ::  Season 8 of House, starring Hugh Laurie, is returning to Fox on October 3rd, 2011.

The preview clip below may have spoilers, but what it does not have, is any info on who the new Dean of Medicine will be as season 8 starts. Remember, Cuddy is out. Gone from House. Poof!

The only info I have is that it will be someone we’ve already met. No completely new blood. Now whether that’s an established character or one we’ve seen before, I don’t know.

After the video is the list of who the new Dean will be coming from…

HUMAN TARGET: Chance's (Mark Valley, L) daily meditation is interrupted by Ilsa Pucci in the HUMAN TARGET Season Two premiere episode "Ilsa Pucci"

At the season finale of season 1, Winston was abducted.  In the Nov 17th season 2 premiere of Human Target, titled “Ilsa Pucci”, that situation is remedied rather quickly in the teaser opener.  And immediately upon rescuing Winston, Chance disappears to a meditative retreat in Nepal.

Human Target starring Mark Valley

His newest client shows up in Nepal after tracking him down, she needs his protection and he returns to San Francisco and the team reassembles to protect their new asset.  But this time around in Human Target, Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) is more focused, Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley) seems even more cold & calculating & Winston (Chi McBride) is just still Winston!

The new client in this episode is Ilsa Pucci, played by Indira Varma (HBO’s Rome) and a new player in the show is Ames, played by the devilish and lovely Janet Montgomery (HBO’s Entourage).

TV & Movie news & Opinion, weeding out the static

If you were wondering what show is returning or premiering in the Fall 2010 television season when, I’ve pulled everything together in one spot here from my various lists shown by Cinema Static on Brusimm.  My own lists were confusing me, so I suspected others might have been bewildered also!  With that in mind, let’s check out what I’ve put together so far! [Updated with three Syfy Channel premieres]

SMALLVILLE Season 10 - Tom Welling stars as Clark Kent

The first part of my list is sorted first by new TV series by date, then returning (renewed) TV series by date.  Farther down, I have everything sorted by show name, if you were indeed looking for something specific.

"Hawaii Five-O" Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan

Human Target on Fox with Chi McBride, Mark Valley & Jackie Earle Haley

HUMAN TARGET: With the help of his associates, Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley, R) and Winston (Chi McBride, L), Christopher Chance (Mark Valley, C) is a private contractor hired to protect his clients from dangerous and imminent threats in the action-drama HUMAN TARGET

-

SUPERNATURAL starring Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki

Can you tell some of the shows I’m looking forward to?  And no, sorry, I didn’t break the lists out by network!  I’m getting lazy these days!  LOL.

2010 Comic-Con News from Cinema Static

The 2010 Comic-Con event in San Diego is a pretty fun event to attend.  For some, it’s a one-day event and for others, it’s the entire weekend.  For the TV and movie fan, it can be a blast to attend one of the many panels and see your favorite stars in-person!  This year, as in other years, TV shows have their events in Ballroom 20.  It’s not quite as big as Hall H, where they hold the movie panels and big-gun talks, bit it’s still a sizable room.

In this room, shows will pack the floor.  Shows scheduled to be represented vary across the spectrum.  Those TV series and their stars expected to be presented are Burn Notice, White Collar, Psych, Dexter, Stargate Universe, Caprica, Bones, True Blood, Chuck, Fringe, The Vampire Diaries, Smallville, Supernatural, Glee and the Buffy Musical show.  Not to mention The Joss Whedon Experience!

So check it out below!

2010 Comic-Con News from Cinema Static

Ballroom 20 during the 2010 Comic-Con event weekend is THE place to be if you’re a TV series fanatic! From The Big Bang Theory to Bones on Friday. On Saturday the shows in the big room start with Chuck, Fringe and the day closes out with Human Target. Sunday is the big WB day, with Smallville, Supernatural and Glee.  If you’re looking for something movie related, Hall H will be the place for sure.  For example, Tron: Legacy will be at Comic-Con 2010 in Hall H!

  • American Dad

  • Bones

  • Burn Notice

  • Californication

  • Chuck

  • Dexter

  • Family Guy

  • Fringe

  • Futurama

  • V

  • Weeds

  • White Collar

If you like even 1/2 of the shows listed below, you’re going to be getting antsy about 1/2 way through the day. Me, I pack 2 bagels, a decent sized baggie of Cheerios and water.

Here’s a Comic-Con Survival Tip from Cinema Static on Brusimm: If there’s a panel you want to go to, get there early enough to get a front section seat. If your favorite show isn’t the first panel up but is 2nd or 3rd, you can get to the room before the previous panel ends. Believe it or not, even if your favorite show is following a panel, not everyone at the previous panel will be staying for yours. I’m shocked every time 1/3 of the room empties for my panel. But that is the good news. The bad news is that there are even more people coming in or are already there waiting for the folks to leave.

Human Target WonderCon 2010 Panel

"Human Target" series stars Jackie Earle Haley and Mark Valley, along with executive producer Jonathan E. Steinberg, at WonderCon in San Francisco on Sunday, April 4, 2010. The series airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on FOX. (2010 © Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. All rights reserved./Photo by Phil Bray)

During last weekend’s outing in San Francisco at WonderCon 2010, one of the more interesting panels (to me) was the Human Target panel, which consisted of showrunner Jonathan Steinberg, Mark Valley (who plays Christopher Chance) and Jackie Earle Haley (who plays Guerrero)  (Not present was Chi McBride who plays Winston)

During the panel, Steinberg indicated that the network likes the show and that despite the ratings, Fox is aware of the challenges they had at the front end of the season when they were jostled by NFL schedules, American Idol schedules and even the President’s  State of the Union telecast.

Through it all, they’ve managed to pull up their ratings numbers and in the week ending on April 4th, Human Target squeaked into the top-25 network ratings for all ages with 8.2 million viewers, but doesn’t crack the top-25 in the advertisers specialty spending group of 18-49.  The week before, they did pull in 8.2 million viewers in that category, and before that 8.7 million in total viewers.

A quick review on Fox’s premiere episode of Human Target is that so far it’s a bit predictable and bland right now and does not stand out from any other action show.

It had an explosive opening as we’re introduced to Christopher Chance (Mark Valley).

We later meet his partners Winston (Chi McBride) and Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley). These three form their security company that protect clients via Chance being a decoy or shield for his clients.

He’s shart eyed and seems to be a rather intelligent man.

Human Target from Fox stars the chiseled Mark Valley (Fringe, Boston Legal, Keen Eddie) as the lead character, Christopher Chance.  Jackie Earle Haley (A Nightmare on Elm Street[2010], Shutter Island [in post production], Watchmen ) as Guerrero and Chi McBride (The Family Tree [in post production], Pushing Daisies, The Nine) as Winston.

Human Target is brought to us by WBTV, DC Comics and McG’s Wonderland.  Christopher Chance is a mysterious for-hire security kind of guy who protects his clients by becoming the Human target.

It sounds pretty cool and below is a 3 minute promo that fox put out.  It’s almost a spoiler of sorts giving away what seems like a lot!

You’ll see.  Enjoy.
