I came across some news (good & bad) bites for a few fan favorite franchises I thought I’d pass along. Great news on a Firefly board game, news on Cinematic Titanic’s live tour and seemingly bad news on any possible Lobo movie.

Cinematic Titanic Touring News (And It Ain’t Great!)
For any fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K), you know the story. And that story led to the present day incarnation of what is known as Cinematic Titanic.
The Cinematic Titanic gang is comprised of Joel Hodgson, J Elvis Weinstein, Frank Conniff, Trace Beaulieu, & Mary Jo Pehl. And they picked up where they left off with MST3K, riffing on old movies. And proving they had not lost their touch.
And with that touch, came a tour where audience members could watch as the gang riffed a move live. Those live audience performances also made it to DVD and it was a blast to not only by laughing at something you think is funny, but it felt like a form of vindication when you heard the rest of the audience laughing along-side you.
But the gang made a recent announcement that this 2013 live tour will be their last, “this will be our last year actively touring as Cinematic Titanic.“ Or as they called it, an “indefinite hiatus.”
But they will be cranking out as many dates as they can possibly do this year and are in discussions of additional DVDs.
So if you’re of the mind, check out Cinematic Titanic 2013 Live Tour Schedule web page and if they’re coming anywhere near you and you’re a fan, show some fan love and hit them up at their next stop near you!

The Rock/Lobo News
Last year there was news that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was going to be working with Joel Silver on a Lobo movie. Nerd Reactor is reporting that it seems, stemming from a recent interview, that those plans might have come to a grinding halt.
What you take away from this is that maybe the project isn’t dead, but it’s possible that his involvement in the project probably is.
And that’s a shame, because I think Johnson would have made a perfect interstellar Czarnian bounty hunter who seems to live off the fine cuisine of violence.
(BTW, per sources, Lobo is Stan Lee’s favorite character of all.)
